These four mirror models were produced from 2D drawings. They served firstly as a design aid - the designer was able to very quickly see his creation in 3D and make alterations as needed. Secondly, it was possible to map materials to the models to see how the finished item might look in different wood types, veneers or paint finishes. Lastly, the 3D models could be  sent to a CNC machinist, or be 3D printed, and reproduced as many times as needed.
